The Wagner Tuning Competition Intercooler Kit is a direct upgrade for the Fiat 595 Abarth Competizione and Fiat 500 Abarth 595 1.4 Turbo (103-132 kW / 140-180 PS, 2015-2022) fitted with the manual gearbox. It replaces the two small factory side-mounted intercoolers with a single, much larger front-mounted core, giving the engine cooler, denser air to work with under sustained driving.

An intercooler’s job is to cool the compressed air leaving the turbo before it enters the engine. The cooler the air, the more oxygen it carries, and the better the engine performs. The factory setup on the 595 Abarth is known to heat soak quickly, especially during spirited driving or on track, leading to a noticeable drop in performance. This kit is designed to solve that problem.

What’s different about this kit

The Wagner core uses a Tube Fin design measuring 600 mm x 204.6 mm x 80 mm, with a total volume of 9.8 litres. Compared to the standard twin intercoolers, that’s an 85% larger frontal surface and 131% more core volume, which translates to far greater cooling capacity and much better resistance to heat soak.

The cast aluminium end tanks are developed using CAD and refined through CFD (computer-simulated airflow) testing to keep internal airflow smooth and even. A newly designed elliptical outlet, paired with Wagner’s own silicone hoses, shortens the charge air path and reduces back pressure, which helps improve throttle response throughout the rev range. An anti-corrosion coating with heat-conducting properties protects the core and helps maintain long-term cooling performance.
