The Wagner Tuning EVO1 Gen.2 Competition Intercooler Kit is a direct front-mount upgrade for the 2.5 TFSI engine found in the Audi TTRS 8J and RS3 8P. It replaces the restrictive OEM intercooler with a far larger, more efficient core, helping the engine maintain consistent power on hot days, during repeated hard pulls, and on track.

An intercooler cools the compressed air coming from the turbo before it enters the engine. Cooler air is denser, which means more oxygen, more reliable boost pressure and reduced risk of heat-related power loss (often called “heat soak”). The bigger and more efficient the intercooler, the longer your engine can hold peak performance.

What sets the Gen.2 Competition core apart

This is Wagner Tuning’s latest generation core, built around updated Tube-Fin technology for improved heat transfer without choking airflow. The core measures 535mm x 160mm x 110mm, giving roughly 40% more charge air volume than the standard Audi unit, yet the complete intercooler weighs just 6.7 kg.

The cast aluminium end tanks are CAD-developed in a free-form shape to smooth internal airflow and reduce backpressure compared to the OEM cooler. An anti-corrosion coating with good heat conduction properties helps the cooler maintain efficiency over the long term, even in harsh road conditions.
