Wagner Tuning Sport Cat Downpipe Kit – Audi TTRS 8S & RS3 8V.2 (Facelift)

This Wagner Tuning downpipe kit is built specifically for the Audi TTRS 8S and the facelift RS3 8V.2, both powered by the legendary 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine. It replaces the restrictive factory downpipe (the section of exhaust that bolts directly to the turbocharger) with a free-flowing, high-performance alternative, helping the turbo breathe more freely and allowing the engine to deliver more of its potential.

Why Upgrade the Downpipe?

The factory downpipe on the TTRS and RS3 includes a restrictive pre-catalytic converter that limits how quickly exhaust gases can leave the turbocharger. By replacing it with the Wagner Tuning sport cat downpipe, exhaust back pressure is significantly reduced. This allows the turbo to spool more efficiently, improves throttle response and helps the engine make better use of its airflow – particularly noticeable when paired with a remap.

An added benefit is reduced heat build-up around the turbocharger area, which can contribute to longer turbo service life over time.

Construction & Key Features

The kit is manufactured from cast stainless steel (grade 1.4301 / SS304) for excellent durability and corrosion resistance. The internal pipework is CAD-designed and flow-optimised, featuring twin 70mm pipes for smooth, unrestricted exhaust gas evacuation from the turbo.

OPF Models – Important Fitment Note

If your RS3 or TTRS is fitted with an OPF (Otto Particle Filter) – a particulate filter fitted to the exhaust on later models – the exhaust system will need to be cut to fit the optional aftercat pipes with racing catalytic converters. This modification is not required for non-OPF models, which remain fully compatible with the original aftercat pipework.

Important Notice – Catalytic Converter Use

Wagner Tuning catalytic converters are designed for use on standard, unmodified (OEM) vehicles for performance optimisation purposes only. They are not intended for use alongside ECU tuning (remapping), including “burble” or overrun maps, anti-lag systems, or any modifications that significantly increase exhaust gas temperatures. Using the cats outside of these conditions can cause premature failure and is not covered under warranty.
